Event brings together professionals in Cumbria and Lancashire to share best practice on Climate Change and our Population's Health

10th May 2024

Thanks to colleagues across Cumbria and Lancashire who took part in the ‘Climate Change and our Population’s Health’ workshop on the 9th May 2024 in Preston. The special workshop was organised jointly by the Public Health Collaborative and the Lancashire and South Cumbria ICB Population Health team.

The event, chaired by Abdul Razaq, Director of Public Health for Blackburn with Darwen Council and Andy Knox, Associate Medical Director of Population Health, Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care Board, aimed to share good practice and identify what we would like to work together on as a system.

Key speakers included Stephen Benge, Population Health Intelligence Advisor, Sarah Kipps, Public Health Specialty Registrar and Rebecca Ramsay, Programme Manager for the Cumbria and Lancashire Public Health Collaborative.

We identified some next steps for the system, including:

  • Building community power and participation
  • Map what is already happening and look for gaps and opportunities
  • Joint approach to action and avoid duplication
