Join this event to explore how Alcohol Assertive Outreach Treatment (AAOT) can help alleviate some of the social, health and economic pressures in this area by offering a creative and flexible approach to engaging and treating patients who might otherwise be readmitted to an acute hospital ward.

This event is hosted by the Mental Health Implementation Network , a national programme which aims to drive national collaborations and changes in mental health practice and is funded by the NIHR.

What to expect:

Expert insights: Hear from experts in alcohol addiction services, research innovators and people with lived experience of alcohol dependence about the urgency of the issue and the need for a more innovative, intensive approach to support patients who may have dropped out of treatment.

Delve into Alcohol Assertive Outreach Treatment implementation: Discover the progress and lessons learned from two Mental Health Implementation Network (MHIN) project sites (ARC Yorkshire & Humber and ARC Greater Manchester) who have implemented and evaluated AAOT.

Practical takeaways: We will cover top tips for implementing a high quality and effective AAOT service, and what makes a sustainable AAOT service that puts the patient at the centre of its outcomes. We will also consider some of the economic and social opportunities, as well as the challenges in implementing this service.

Who should attend?

  • Commissioners and policymakers working in local government, health and social care, including Voluntary and Community Sector organisations.
  • Clinicians, practitioners, and researchers working in substance use, mental health and multiple complex needs
