Research: Call for London Public Health Colleagues from Ethnic Minority Backgrounds

Learning and Work Institute (L&W) and The Social Innovation Partnership (TSIP) are conducting research for Health Education England (HEE) South East to inform the design of a career’s intervention for non-clinical, core public health careers within local authority public health teams in their region.

  • This aims to provide opportunities to people from ethnic minority groups affected by inequalities to enter and/or progress a career in public health, with the aim of supporting social mobility.
  • It will also support widening participation and the development of a diverse local authority public health workforce.

Learning & Work are conducting interviews with public health professionals from ethnic minority backgrounds who work in local authority public health teams, and would like to extend this to the London workforce. These interviews will help them develop a clear understanding of enablers and barriers faced in developing and progressing a career in public health. Interviews will take place on Teams or over the phone and will take 45-60 minutes.

If you would like more information about taking part or to register to participate in the interviews, please email mags.bexon@learningandwork.org.uk by Friday 27 January 2023.
