The Taskforce’s vision is that every child in London grows up in a community and an environment that supports their health and weight.
Its purpose is to bring about a transformation in London so that every child has every chance to grow up eating healthily, drinking plenty of water and being physically active.
Its commitment by 2030 is to halve the percentage of London’s children who are overweight at the start of primary school and obese at the end of primary school, and to reduce the gap in childhood obesity rates between the richest and poorest areas in London
Sector Led Improvement (SLI)
In early 2016, ADPH London began a sector led improvement project with the Directors of Public Health. The aims of the project were to identify local improvement actions for all Local Authorities and to identify joint actions for common issues across London.
A thematic review was produced and recommendations have informed the development of an implementation plan which the London Childhood Obesity Delivery Board delivered on.
